Bar Nunn Elementary School This project consists of a twelve-classroom addition and a new gymnasium for an existing K–5 elementary school originally constructed in the 1980s, which also houses a specialized BASE (Behavior, Academic, and Social Education) program. The project was uniquely funded through three coordinated sources: The Wyoming School Facilities Commission, the Natrona County School District, and a major maintenance budget. All scopes of work were carefully packaged into a single bid to streamline construction under one general contractor, minimizing cost duplication and maximizing coordination. The design was completed in two phases to allow the school to remain fully operational during construction. Despite this complexity, the project was delivered on a highly compressed 14-month construction schedule. Upgrades to the existing facility, including fire protection and lighting, were strategically executed during summer break to avoid disruption to the school calendar. As the only elementary school in this small community, the new gymnasium was designed to serve multiple roles beyond education: as a voting center, a community gathering space, and an emergency disaster headquarters.
